Julie K. Murphy
Julie K. Murphy is a partner at Rico, Murphy & Diamond LLP. She has been practicing in the probate and family courts in Massachusetts since 2002. Julie’s practice focuses on family law issues, either as counsel or as a mediator, and she has experience handling issues of divorce, custody, support, paternity, visitation, contempt, and modification. Julie is a certified mediator and is training to become Parent Coordinator. She has trained to become an ARC (Attorney Representing Children) attorney and to accept Limited Assistance Representation matters.
Prior to joining Rico, Murphy & Diamond, Julie was a partner at Grandfield and Murphy, LLP and an associate with Partridge, Ankner & Hortsmann LLP. Julie is a member of the Massachusetts Bar Association’s Family Law Section and a member of Massachusetts Council on Mediation. She recently chaired the program “When Estate Planning & Divorce Collide” for Massachusetts Continuing Legal Education.
Julie’s work in Family Law includes matters involving divorce, paternity, post-trial complaints, and Pre-nuptial/Post-nuptial Agreements. The issues involved often include:

- College planning
- Substance abuse issues
- Grandparent visitation
Julie graduated from Suffolk University Law School in 2001, having been inducted into the Rehnquist Legal Honor Society. She graduated cum laude from Northeastern University in 1997. She is active in her community having fundraised for Habitat for Humanity, held several membership positions with BNI, and is on the board of her local theater group.
